Week of February 19-25

We started out the week (Monday) by taking the elders grocery shopping at Warehouse, then over to Van Den Tweel. We had considered going snorkeling at Chocogo Resort after this, but for some reason we didn't go. I believe they were sold out by the time we went over there.  We decided to go with all the missionaries over to the Donkey Sanctuary that afternoon, and it was so fun! We had the best time. We went through their cute little gift shop and checked it all out; then went on our way. The sisters drove their car, and we had the elders in the back of our car. We just slowly followed each other. I had brought carrots and some apples, which I thought was a lot - but none of the missionaries brought any food for the donkeys. So I distributed all I had amongst all of us, and wished I/we had brought more! There are over 960 donkeys in the sanctuary. Goodbye to the Family, Sibling Lunch + Hayden's Birthday! 11/5/22

We said goodbye to our home in southern Utah, and traveled up to Provo on Saturday morning (November 5). We had a siblings lunch with Brian's sibs around noon. It's always super fun to get together with them! We went to Jane and Spencer's this time, and they had a great meal for us. We will miss everyone over the next year! It is really special to have family that's also our BFFs.  After lunch, we headed down to Provo to stay a few nights at a local hotel (very close to Hayden's BYU apartment!). We brought all of our luggage inside our hotel room, as we didn't want to make it too easy for anyone to be tempted to break into our car whilst staying there. (We packed a bit heavy...but what's a girl to do? We'll be gone for an entire year!!). September 1, 2023. Get Outa Here, Covid - and Welcome, September!

You heard me - get out of town, Covid! I've been feeling sick since Sunday after church. Not super sick, but not great. It got continually worse, and then I felt like I was hit by a truck by Monday morning. When I noticed that my sense of smell was mostly gone, I realized it was probably covid. I could slightly smell the old jar of sauerkraut in our fridge, so that was the biggest giveaway to the possibility of covid vs. a cold. I felt like it could be a sinus infection. Sadly, I'm an old pro on those - tho' I was a bit worried...because of my sinus infection history, I generally need an antibiotic to take care of them. I don't have a doctor here and frankly, the medical care here scares me (thanks to our experiences with several missionaries and members). Anyway. I've been plowing through it. I had Elder Ridd run out on Monday to see if he could find any COVID tests, just in case. He went to about 6 stores and couldn't locate any. My cold got worse - including ...
